Monthly subscriptions go from ¥306 to ¥400, three-month from ¥840 to ¥1,020, and twelve-month from ¥2,400 to ¥3,000. Nintendo apologized for any inconvenience, stating: "We sincerely apologize to all users of Nintendo Switch Online for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding."

Regional Exemptions and Future Outlook

Currently, users in the UK, EU, and US are unaffected. However, industry observers expect similar increases globally, given Nintendo's pattern of aligning prices across regions. The Switch 2 console is also set for a price hike in September 2026, with a $50 increase in the US and an undisclosed rise in Japan.
