Thousands of Spotify users are experiencing difficulties with the music streaming platform this evening, with many reporting that their playlists are not loading and the app is unresponsive.
Reports of Widespread Outage
According to Downdetector, more than 10,000 users have logged complaints about Spotify. The majority of issues involve the Spotify app, while others have reported problems with audio streaming and server connection.
One user posted on Reddit: "I tried to login on my PC with good internet connection but Spotify doesn't load the website very fast as well as can't connect with the scanner. When I'm in the app on my phone it says that [I am] offline. Does anyone know what happened?"
Spotify Acknowledges the Problem
Spotify responded on X (formerly Twitter), stating: "We're aware of some issues right now with the app and are checking them out!" The company has not yet provided a timeline for when services will be fully restored.
