Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab S12 range, a new line of premium tablets designed to compete with Apple's iPad. The Korean technology firm unveiled two models: the 12.6-inch Tab S12+ and the larger 14.6-inch Tab S12 Ultra.
Premium features and design
Both devices feature sleek, lightweight designs with Dynamic AMOLED 2K displays, rapid performance, and battery life exceeding 20 hours on a single charge. Samsung highlights that the Tab S12 Ultra is its thinnest Tab yet, while also delivering the most powerful performance of any Galaxy Tab to date.
The new tablets carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, ensuring durability in damp conditions. Entertainment options include quad speakers, access to streaming apps, and thousands of games.
Productivity and creative tools
For work and creative tasks, the devices come with Adobe's Photoshop pre-loaded, a first for Android tablets. Productivity apps can run side-by-side for improved multitasking, and an S Pen is included in the box, contrasting with Apple's Pencil accessory which costs around £100 extra.
AI updates from Samsung and Google's Gemini are integrated into the operating system, aimed at speeding up mundane tasks, retouching images, and finding information online. A smart keyboard with a full keyboard and trackpad is available as an optional accessory.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series will be available from October 7 in Grey and Silver. The Tab S12+ starts at £1,199, while the Tab S12 Ultra starts at £1,399. A full review is expected soon.
