A real dog was left confused and barking after encountering a robot dog in Holland Park, west London. Footage shows the black and white canine keeping its distance and barking loudly at the robotic counterpart.
The robot, a Go2 AIR Robotic Dog model by Chinese firm Unitree Robotics, performed complex movements including standing on its hind legs, prompting shouts of surprise from onlookers. The real dog retreated onto pavement steps as the robot approached.
The robot dog costs around £2,000 and uses sensors to create 3D maps of its surroundings. It can recognise human voices and respond to commands, but has a battery life of only one to two hours and is not waterproof.
The dog's owner was seen shaking his head with a smile, while the person filming commented: 'Dog sees the future and he is like Nah. That is hilarious.'
