The Royal Mint has unveiled a new series of commemorative coins celebrating the iconic rock band Pink Floyd, adding them to its prestigious 'music legends' collection. The coins feature the legendary prism from the album The Dark Side Of The Moon, a symbol of the band's innovative approach to music and visual art.
Coin Design and Features
The reverse design places the prism at its centre, with select editions showcasing a vibrant rainbow prism effect in colour. This design, created by Henry Gray, captures the essence of Pink Floyd's visionary artistry. The series now includes Pink Floyd alongside David Bowie, George Michael, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Paul McCartney, and Freddie Mercury.
