Ofcom has released its latest consumer complaints data for UK broadband providers, covering January to March 2026. TalkTalk received the most complaints per 100,000 customers, with 10 complaints, followed by Vodafone (8) and BT (7).
Best and worst performers
Plusnet and Sky recorded the fewest complaints, with 4 and 5 per 100,000 customers respectively. Virgin Media and EE both had 6 complaints per 100,000.
Ofcom noted that overall broadband complaints have fallen to an all-time low of 6 per 100,000 customers, down from a peak of 40 in 2011.
Complaint categories
TalkTalk's complaints mostly related to faults, service and provisioning, complaints handling, and billing issues. Ofcom said: “TalkTalk was the most complained-about broadband provider, with their complaints staying at similar levels to the previous quarter.”
Landline and TV complaints
Ofcom also tracked landline and pay-TV complaints. Utility Warehouse, Sky, Virgin Media and Vodafone each received 2 complaints per 100,000 for landlines. For TV, TalkTalk and Sky recorded 2 complaints per 100,000, followed by Virgin Media (3) and EE (4).
Cristina Luna-Esteban, Ofcom’s Director of Consumers and Retail Markets, said: “It’s encouraging to see broadband complaints falling to their lowest levels since our records began. Companies must not be complacent, and we expect them to continually strive to improve their services and deliver a great customer experience.”
