Nothing has unveiled its latest budget Android smartphone, the Nothing Phone (4b), priced at just £299 and aimed squarely at Samsung's recently released Galaxy A37 and A57 models. The UK-based tech firm promises a range of premium features typically found on more expensive devices.
Display and Performance
The Phone (4b) boasts a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and gaming. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A 5,200 mAh battery provides all-day usage, and a vapour chamber cooling system helps maintain performance under load.
Camera Capabilities
The rear dual-camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor and an ultrawide lens. Nothing claims these deliver exceptional detail and natural colour reproduction. Video recording reaches 4K resolution with AI anti-shake technology to reduce camera wobble.
Glyph Bar and Software
A distinctive feature is the Glyph Bar on the rear case, comprising 45 individually controlled mini-LEDs with brightness up to 3,500 nits. It provides notifications, charging progress, recording indicators, and personalised alerts without needing to look at the screen. Nothing explains: "By surfacing what matters at a glance, the Glyph Bar creates a more intuitive, less distracting way to interact with your smartphone."
The device runs Nothing OS, with a promise of 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches.
