Manchester United have confirmed their 25-man travelling squad for Saturday's pre-season friendly against Wrexham in Helsinki, with new £50m signing Andrey Santos included. However, Benjamin Sesko is not in the party as he continues his recovery from a shin injury sustained late last season.
Santos set for debut, Sesko absent
Andrey Santos, who joined United from Chelsea in a £50million deal this summer, could make his first appearance for the club. The 22-year-old midfielder was United's first signing of the transfer window. Meanwhile, Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko is following his own rehabilitation programme and will not feature.
Youthful squad due to absentees
With several first-team players still at the World Cup or on holiday, manager Erik ten Hag has called up a number of academy prospects. Harry Amass and Shea Lacey are among those hoping to impress. Jaydan Kamason is expected to get game time at right-back, with Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui absent.
Midfield options include Jacob Devaney, Dan Gore, Jim Thwaites, and the Fletcher brothers, Tyler and Jack. Up front, with Sesko out, academy forwards Chido Obi and Ethan Wheatley could lead the line. JJ Gabriel is not included in the squad.
Tielemans unavailable
Youri Tielemans, who completed a £35million move from Aston Villa, will have to wait for his debut. The 29-year-old is on holiday after finalising his transfer and is not part of the travelling party.
