Jet2 has announced a new '72-hour' update for passengers, just in time for the summer travel season. The update, launched this week, enables travelers to view live flight times, check flight status, and receive updates 72 hours before departure. This feature is designed to provide accurate and timely information, making journeys more straightforward.
New App Features for Enhanced Travel Experience
The update comes via Jet2's mobile app, which now also allows passengers to access details about their in-resort Customer Helper, including meeting times, locations, and the helper's name. This aims to simplify getting support and staying informed about their trip.
David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, said: "We are always looking at how we can continually improve the experience for our customers and digital innovation is a critical part of that. We are very pleased to be launching this new app functionality, which makes travelling with Jet2 even easier and more convenient. By putting more real-time information in our customers' hands, we are improving our industry-leading customer experience even further."
Continued Investment in Digital Innovation
This update follows last year's introduction of the 'Live Transfer Status' app function, which lets passengers monitor their coach journey to the departure airport in real time. That service currently covers coach transfers from the Balearics, Canaries, Mainland Spain, Morocco, Turkey, and Bulgaria, with plans to extend to Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Faro, and Madeira this summer.
Hills added: "This is part of our continued investment in delivering the very best customer service there is, and it is another example of how we are continuing to evolve our app and digital offering in response to what customers want from us."
Advice for Summer Travelers
In addition to the app update, Jet2 has urged passengers to check flight information at least 12 hours before departure. The airline advises: "Please check this section of the website at least 12 hours before your flight for the latest flight information." They also recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time, noting that check-in desks close 40 minutes before departure.
For flight disruptions, Jet2's Operations teams work from their UK-based HQ to get passengers on their way as soon as possible.
