Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max this September, with rumours suggesting a variable aperture camera system and no price increase despite rising component costs. The devices will run iOS 27, which introduces new Apple Intelligence features and AI-powered photo editing tools.
According to analyst Mark Gurman, Apple may shift its launch strategy, dedicating the September event solely to the Pro models and a foldable iPhone, while the regular iPhone 18 could be delayed until spring 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro is likely to be announced on Tuesday 8 or Wednesday 9 September, with pre-orders on 11 September and release on 18 September.
Pricing is expected to remain unchanged from the iPhone 17 Pro series, as Apple negotiates favourable memory chip deals with Samsung and SK Hynix, according to analysts Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo. Pu noted that Apple is focusing on cost management to absorb any extra expenses.
