Halifax, Lloyds, Bank of Scotland apps down: users report issues

Customers of Halifax, Lloyds Bank, and Bank of Scotland have reported widespread issues with their mobile banking apps and online services. Users took to social media platform X to express frustration, with one account stating: “I’ve been trying for the past 3 hours and I can’t log in.”

In response to a user report on X, Halifax acknowledged the problem, commenting: “Some customers are having issues with accessing our Mobile App right now. Bear with us as we fix this.”

According to outage monitoring website Downdetector, customers of Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland have also experienced technical difficulties. Lloyds Banking Group, which owns both Halifax and Bank of Scotland, recently faced scrutiny after an IT glitch in March exposed the personal data of nearly half a million customers. The group issued £139,000 in compensation following that incident.
