Google's Pixel 11 series has launched, and shoppers switching from iPhone or Samsung can get a free tech bundle worth over £250 this week. The offer includes Pixel Buds Pro 2 and a Google phone case, valued at £269, for those upgrading to the standard Pixel 11 or Pixel 11 Pro XL models.
Pixel 11 series details and deals
Earlier this month, Google unveiled four handsets in the Pixel 11 series: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Each features upgrades including a new camera system, a powerful Tensor G6 processor, and Gemini Intelligence updates.
The giveaway comes from Currys-backed store Mobiles.co.uk. Deals include £25.99 per month and £89 upfront for the base model on a 100GB tariff, which also includes free Google services such as YouTube Premium and a Google AI Pro trial. The Pixel 11 Pro XL costs £35.99 per month and £129 upfront on a 100GB tariff, with the free bundle. The Pixel 11 Pro offers free buds but no case for £29.99 per month and £129 upfront for 100GB. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is £50.99 per month and £109 upfront for the same deal.
Contract terms and alternatives
Each package runs on the iD Mobile network for 24 months. iD Mobile will increase prices each year, with the Pixel 11 Pro model due to rise to £39.79 from April 2027 and £41.59 from April 2028.
Sky Mobile offers the Pixel 11 Pro for £30 per month plus £12 upfront, but with only a 100MB data allowance and no freebies. It does offer £180 off the Pixel Watch 5 from £6 per month (was £11). Amazon and Argos offer the Pro for £1,079 when buying outright.
HiLight feature praised
Ahead of the launch on August 20, Technology Editor Dave Snelling praised the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL for a new feature that the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy can't match. "Apple and Samsung might rule the roost when it comes to smartphone sales, but Google is fighting back with a bunch of new Pixel devices," he said. "These latest Android phones are not only way more powerful but also come with an upgrade you won't find on any iPhone or Galaxy.
"Tucked on the rear case of the new Pixel 11 Pro and larger Pro XL is something called HiLight. This circular panel, which sits around the flash, is packed with LEDs that glow when alerts arrive. That means you can leave these Pixels face down on a desk and you won't miss an important call. You can even assign different colours to contacts, allowing you to see who's ringing without lifting the phone to check the display."
Dave noted the feature is already available with another brand. "It's a clever idea, although Nothing did get there first," he said. "The British firm has long offered its Glyph Interface on smartphones, which uses rear LEDs to signal notifications and even indicate when the battery has finished charging."
A key difference with Google's version is that it works with the Gemini AI. "HiLight also works with Google's Gemini assistant. Ask a question and the LEDs use different patterns to show when Gemini is listening, thinking or responding," Dave continued. "Google says more features are coming, including the ability to display alerts from friends and family. It will be interesting to see just where Google takes it."
