Samsung fans can secure a rare double deal including a free smartwatch if they ditch the tech giant’s online store for a rival retailer. At Currys-backed site Mobiles.co.uk, shoppers can secure a bundle by upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S26.
Samsung’s flagship Android phone costs £27.99 per month and £29 upfront and includes a double data deal with 200GB for the price of 100GB. This package on the iD Mobile network works out at roughly 90p per day across a 30-day month.
Free Galaxy Watch8 with S26 orders
Customers ordering it by Tuesday (September 8) can also claim a free Samsung Galaxy Watch8 by heading to Samsung’s deals site within 30 days. The same double deal is also available with the larger Galaxy S26+ at £39.99 per month and £49 upfront, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is £39.99 per month and £79 upfront.
To secure any of these deals, shoppers must sign up for a 24-month iD Mobile contract, but bear in mind that prices will increase each year. iD Mobile has already confirmed the £27.99 S26 plan will rise to £29.79 from April 2027 and £31.59 from April 2028.
Cheaper than Samsung’s own price
Over the life of the contract, this amounts to a total cost of £740.36 – cheaper than Samsung’s own £779 price tag. It also undercuts Sky Mobile, where the Galaxy S26 is also available with a free smartwatch but starts at £30 per month with a much smaller 100MB data allowance.
The S26 is the flagship device in Samsung’s latest Galaxy S series, released in March alongside the S26+ and Ultra models. It comes in a choice of cobalt violet, sky blue, black or white colourways with a 6.3” AMOLED display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Key specs and expert verdict
The S26 has a 50MP triple-lens camera and super-speedy Exynos 2600 processor, which allows it to multitask smoothly and efficiently. It also boasts a powerful battery with fast-charging support that can reach 55% in around 30 minutes, plus a host of innovative AI features like photo editing, live translation, time-saving shortcuts and writing tools.
Before they landed on shelves earlier this year, Technology Editor Dave Snelling praised the Samsung Galaxy S26 for its smart AI features. He said: “Samsung’s new smartphones get a big boost to their smart features thanks to a Galaxy AI upgrade. Samsung is promising a far more useful experience with updates such as Now Nudge.
“This offers up relevant suggestions to help users stay in the flow without being distracted. For example, if a friend asks for photos from a recent trip, the Galaxy S26 automatically suggests photos from the Gallery.
“When receiving a message about a meeting, Galaxy S26 can recognise related Calendar entries and check for conflicts. Google Gemini continues to be backed, which makes finding information on the web far more intuitive.”
However, Dave noted that these upgrades come at a cost, as the S26 launched at a higher price than its predecessor. He added: “These are nice updates from Samsung but they do come at cost with everything going up this year.”
