Elon Musk has officially become the world's first ever trillionaire after his SpaceX business soared on the stock market in New York.
Musk celebrated the Nasdaq opening bell Friday as SpaceX prepared to start trading publicly. His net worth soared above the $1tn mark (£860bn) as shares in his rocket business surged by 20pc in initial trading after the company went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
The South African-born CEO now has a net worth of £1,000,000,000,000 following the successful public offering of SpaceX shares.
