Dyson Supersonic Travel Hair Dryer Review: Compact and Powerful

Dyson has launched a travel-sized version of its popular Supersonic hair dryer, promising powerful airflow and heat control in a compact design. The Supersonic Travel weighs just 330g and measures 7.1 x 22.2 x 6.8cm, making it easy to pack in luggage or a carry-on. It features universal voltage compatibility, so it works worldwide without performance loss.

The dryer uses a high-speed digital motor running at 110,000rpm to generate strong airflow, paired with a heat control system that monitors temperature multiple times per second to prevent overheating. This reduces the risk of heat damage and dehydration. It offers two speed and two heat settings, plus a cool shot, providing four styling combinations.

In testing, the Supersonic Travel dried mid-length curly hair in under 10 minutes, comparable to a full-size premium dryer. The included magnetic smoothing concentrator nozzle is compatible with existing Supersonic attachments, though smart functions from Nural attachments are not supported. The dryer can connect to the MyDyson app for styling guides but cannot be controlled via the app.

While the Supersonic Travel delivers impressive performance in a portable format, its premium price may give some buyers pause. However, for those seeking reliable, damage-free styling on holiday, it offers a significant upgrade over typical hotel hair dryers.
