Brits in certain locations can now access 1Gbps broadband speeds for just pennies a day through a lesser-known provider that is challenging giants like Sky and Virgin Media. Community Fibre has slashed £120 off its 1Gbps Full Fibre Broadband package, reducing the monthly price from £25 to £20, which works out to roughly 66p per day. This promotion is available until July 6 and represents the company's lowest price ever for this plan.
Eligibility and Coverage
Community Fibre's broadband is currently only available in London and select areas in the southeast, including parts of Surrey and Sussex. Customers are advised to use the provider's postcode checker to confirm eligibility. Those who qualify can also save £168 on the 1Gbps Premium package, which is now £25 per month (down from £32).
What's Included
Both the standard and premium packages include Community Fibre's WiFi 7 router, symmetrical download and upload speeds of 1Gbps, free installation, and no setup fee. Premium customers additionally receive guaranteed whole-home coverage, a bespoke engineer setup, and priority support.
Community Fibre claims to be the capital's fastest full fibre network, offering download speeds ranging from 35Mbps to 5Gbps, which they say are up to 72 times faster than the national average.
Comparison with Competitors
Sky's fastest download speed is 900Mbps, costing £30 per month on a 24-month contract. This is £240 more expensive than Community Fibre's 1Gbps plan over the same period, before accounting for mid-contract price increases. Virgin Media's Gig1 Fibre Broadband offers average speeds of 1,130Mbps at £28.99 per month, including a free Netflix subscription, but its coverage is more limited than Sky's.
Contract and Pricing
To take advantage of the discounted Community Fibre deal, customers must sign a 24-month contract. The provider states that prices are fixed until 2027, but monthly charges will increase by £4 once the minimum term ends.

Overall Impression
