Cinnabon has made a surprise return to the UK market, introducing two new bakery-inspired treats: Cinnamon Muffins and Cinnamon Doughnuts. After closing its standalone high street stores, the brand partnered with manufacturer Baker & Baker to bring these items directly to supermarket in-store bakeries.
The Taste Test
Social News Assistant Editor Samantha Bartlett sampled both products and shared her thoughts. The muffins feature a gooey cinnamon core and a soft, cake-like texture, topped with a smooth layer of Cinnabon's signature cream cheese-flavored frosting and crunchy cinnamon biscuit crumbs. The doughnuts are light and fluffy, filled generously with spiced cinnamon sugar, and decorated with a velvety swirl of cream cheese icing and biscuit pieces.
Bartlett noted that the filling in both items is impressively abundant, with the cinnamon sugar delivering a robust flavor. While the cream cheese frosting lacks a strong tang, it adds a pleasant sweetness. Her personal favorite is the muffin, praised for its lightness and fluffy texture, which she believes outshines similar products on the market.
Online Reactions
Online reviewers echo Bartlett's enthusiasm. Lifestyle content creator Anastasia Kingsnorth called the muffins "incredible" in a TikTok video, noting they are "really filled" and a "must-buy." Instagram influencer emilyjade highlighted the generous cinnamon sugar in the doughnuts, deeming them "perfect for anyone who misses Cinnabon" in the UK.
Availability and Pricing
The new treats are currently available at Co-op stores nationwide and at Asda stores from May 18. A 2-pack of Cinnamon Doughnuts costs £1.80, while a 2-pack of Cinnamon Muffins is priced at £2.00. Additional UK retail partnerships and wider distribution are reportedly planned for later this year.
