Chelsea are expected to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer and have made him available for around £43 million. The Blues are ready to move on from the Argentine, less than a year after he joined from Manchester United in a deal worth £40m.
Permanent Sale Preferred
Standard Sport understands that Chelsea would prefer a permanent sale, rather than a loan exit, as they field interest in Garnacho from clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, the Saudi Pro League and other European leagues.
While many of Chelsea’s stars returned to training for pre-season on Thursday, as new head coach Xabi Alonso began work, it is understood that Garnacho stayed away to explore a potential move away.
Garnacho Wants Regular Starts
The 22-year-old wants to be a regular starter, a role Chelsea cannot guarantee as they are prioritising other players in his position and are now willing to sanction a sale. It is a similar wish to Andrey Santos’s, which saw the Brazilian move to Manchester United where he expects to play more, in a deal worth up to £50m.
There is likely to be movement on Garnacho’s situation in the coming days as Chelsea negotiate with interested parties.
Garnacho's Chelsea Record
Garnacho scored eight goals in all competitions during his debut season with Chelsea, but just one in the Premier League. Manchester United have a 10 per cent sell-on clause, so will be due a cut of any fee Chelsea recoup on Garnacho this summer.
