Beats and Nike Launch First Co-Branded Powerbeats Pro 2 Special Edition

Beats and Nike have unveiled the Powerbeats Pro 2 — Nike Special Edition, marking the first time Beats has collaborated with another company on a co-branded product. The release features Nike's Swoosh logo on the earbuds for the first time, alongside Beats' own 'b' logo.

Chris Thorne, CMO of Beats, said in a statement: 'This isn’t just a new colorway; it’s a collision of two brands that define performance, culture, and sports — the attributes of today’s athlete. By placing the Swoosh on our hardware for the first time, we’re honoring the shared DNA of Beats and Nike — and celebrating ambassadors like LeBron James who embody both.'

The earbuds retain the same features as the standard Powerbeats Pro 2, including active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and built-in heart rate monitoring that syncs with fitness platforms like Nike Run Club. Battery life is rated up to 45 hours with the charging case, and the earbuds feature wraparound ear hooks and water resistance for workouts.

The collaboration launched on Tuesday with a campaign starring LeBron James, a longtime ambassador for both brands. The spot, titled 'Keep Your Head in the Game,' shows James playing golf while facing comedic criticism from pro golfer Tom Kim and actors Lionel Boyce and Travis 'Taco' Bennett.

The partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between Nike and Beats, which have shared overlapping athlete rosters and cultural positioning for years, particularly in basketball. James has been closely tied to both companies, having worked with Beats since the early Powerbeats line and maintaining a lifetime deal with Nike.
