Arsenal sign Christos Tzolis for £34m from Club Brugge

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for a £34million fee. The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract, committing his future to the club until 2031.

Third Summer Signing

Tzolis becomes Arsenal's third summer signing, following goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer and the permanent signing of Piero Hincapie. He fills the gap left by Leandro Trossard, who joined Besiktas earlier this month.

Player Profile

Tzolis is a strong two-footed finisher, primarily playing off the left wing but versatile across the front line. Arsenal have identified him as a player who will raise the technical level of the squad in attack. Last season in Belgium, he scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, attracting interest from across Europe. Tzolis has been capped 34 times for Greece.

Previous Experience in England

This will not be his first time playing in England; he spent three years at Norwich between 2021 and 2024. Tzolis made 14 Premier League appearances in the 2021-22 season for the Canaries but did not score a goal.

Integration into Squad

Tzolis will join up with his Arsenal team-mates this week and should be able to hit the ground running. He returned for pre-season training at Brugge earlier this month and featured in a friendly against Feyenoord, scoring a brilliant goal as he cut in off the left wing and curled a strike into the top corner.

Further Transfers

Arsenal remain in the market for at least one more forward signing, with Tzolis' arrival not impacting the push for a more marquee arrival.
