Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has issued a firm 'hands off' message amid Arsenal's pursuit of striker Victor Osimhen, according to the Mirror. Reports in Turkey quote Ozbek as telling his inner circle: "I will not say 'yes' to any transaction that will harm Galatasaray or not benefit Galatasaray. What I said about Baris Alper Yilmaz, I am now saying even more strongly about Osimhen. No matter how much the price is, I am not selling Osimhen."
Arsenal remain determined to sign Osimhen
Despite Ozbek's statement, Turkish publication Sozcu claims Arsenal remain 'determined' to sign the 27-year-old Nigerian. Osimhen has addressed the rumours, saying: "There are always rumours during the transfer windows. I'll focus on my job. I'm focused on my work. We'll see and think about what comes next then."
Last season, Osimhen bagged 22 goals in 33 games, and he has already begun this campaign with a brace in a 2-2 draw.
Arteta hints at Nwaneri departure
Mikel Arteta has given a strong indication that Ethan Nwaneri could soon be departing the club. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was left out of the squad for Sunday's Community Shield against Manchester City, suggesting he will be transferred before the close of the window, with Galatasaray among the clubs interested.
Ahead of the match, Arteta said: "I want him to be at the club but something is in the medium-long term what is best for the player as well. Ethan needs to play football and if he stays here it's because we can guarantee that he can have those minutes."
The England U21s winger had a breakout season in 2024-25, scoring nine goals in 37 appearances for the Gunners. But he struggled last season, playing just 12 times and scoring once, before being loaned to Marseille, where he featured only 11 times and netted twice.
