Arsenal in talks to sign £34m winger Tzolis

Arsenal have initiated discussions to sign Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, according to reports. The 24-year-old Greece international is seen as a potential replacement for Gabriel Martinelli, with the Gunners open to offers for the Brazilian forward this summer.

Arteta targets left-sided attacker

Mikel Arteta is seeking to bolster his attacking options after guiding Arsenal to the Premier League title last season. Tzolis, who previously spent a season in the Premier League with Norwich City, has impressed during his two-year stint at Club Brugge, netting 43 goals in 108 appearances.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are ‘exploring a deal’ to sign Tzolis this summer. Club Brugge, who were crowned Belgian champions three weeks ago, would accept a €40 million (£34.5m) bid for the winger. The move is not expected to impact Arsenal’s pursuit of Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

Crystal Palace had two bids for Tzolis rejected—€32m (£27.6m) plus bonuses last summer and €40m (£34.6m) in January. Tzolis was named Belgian Pro League Player of the Season last month after scoring 22 goals and registering 29 assists across all competitions, helping his club win the league title.

Tzolis, who has 33 caps for Greece, joined Club Brugge from Fortuna Düsseldorf for €6m (£5m) in 2024. When asked about his future last month, he said: ‘In the past, I always wanted to leave after one season. I had that feeling a bit last year too, but staying was the best choice I could make. I have everything here to be happy.’

Arsenal are reportedly open to offers for Gabriel Martinelli this summer, and Tzolis could be brought in as his replacement.
