Apple TV’s “The Studio” has cemented its place in television history as the most decorated freshman comedy ever produced, after winning the International category at the BAFTA Television Awards in London on Sunday night. The Seth Rogen-led satire added the final marquee trophy to a dominant awards run that includes top prizes at the Primetime Emmys, Golden Globes, The Actor Awards, PGA, DGA and WGA.
The BAFTA win marks Apple TV’s first victory in the International category and makes “The Studio” the first comedy to claim the prize in a decade. The series, which follows newly appointed studio head Matt Remick and his team of infighting executives as they navigate Hollywood’s chaos, has swept major U.S. and international guild and critics organisations over the past 12 months.
“The Studio” arrived at the BAFTA ceremony already the most Emmy-winning freshman comedy in history, with 13 wins including outstanding comedy series and outstanding lead actor for Rogen. Its broader haul includes Golden Globe wins for best comedy series and best actor, Critics Choice awards, an American Film Institute honor, and a clean sweep at the Actor Awards. The show also claimed top series honours from the Producers Guild, Writers Guild, Directors Guild, and numerous other guilds.
Apple TV landed three total wins at Sunday’s BAFTA ceremony, extending a sustained run that includes four wins in 2025 and four more in 2024. All three of Apple TV’s winning titles are streaming globally.
