Apple unveils M6 iMac and MacBook Pro, bigger reveal tomorrow

Apple has confirmed the launch of a refreshed iMac PC and a faster MacBook Pro laptop, with the iconic iMac now featuring a faster M6 processor, rapid Wi-Fi 7 technology for quicker download speeds, improved storage, and full access to the latest Apple Intelligence features and Siri AI. The iMac retains its in-built 24-inch screen, loud speakers, and plenty of ports for plugging in accessories.

iMac and MacBook Pro Updates

To help it blend in better with homes, the iMac is still available in a spectrum of seven colours — blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange, and silver, with prices starting from £1,499.

Next up is the new MacBook Pro 14-inch, which also gets the M6 chip inside. Thanks to this boost, Apple is promising performance gains of over 25%. The M6 is also far more efficient, allowing users to keep the screen glowing for over 20 hours before needing a refill.

As you'd expect, it gets a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, premium aluminium body, impressive audio, and a 12MP Centre Stage camera with Desk View, which helps keep users perfectly framed on video calls. This new laptop starts from £1,999 and is available in space black and silver.

What to Expect Tomorrow

These are big updates to two of Apple's most-loved PCs, but something even better could arrive tomorrow. Apple has confirmed another showcase this week, titled “Pro and tell”, which will take place on Wednesday, October 28.

The company is keeping its cards close to its chest, but all signs point to new MacBook Pro laptops stealing the spotlight. They could arrive with a feature that would mark a major first for Apple's laptops: an OLED touchscreen. The potential upgrades don't stop there, with faster processors and improved battery life expected, while a slimmer, lighter design could make them even more appealing to people who work on the move.

There's also speculation that Apple could bring its iPhone-style Dynamic Island to the MacBook, displaying alerts and other useful information in a pop-up area on the screen. Mirror Online will bring you all the latest news and updates tomorrow night from 8pm.
