Amazon has announced a significant free software upgrade for its Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series televisions, introducing two new features: Interactive Art and Dual Audio. The update aims to enhance the user experience and improve accessibility for those with hearing difficulties.
The Interactive Art feature expands the existing Ambient Experience, which displays artwork when the TV is not in use. Users can now choose from over ten interactive scenes, such as fluttering butterflies or swimming koi fish, that respond to movement detected by the TV's built-in radar sensor. To activate, owners simply ask Alexa to open the Ambient Experience and select the Interactive Art tile.
Meanwhile, the Dual Audio function allows hearing aid users to stream audio directly to their devices while others listen through the TV's speakers. This feature is designed to make the Fire TV more inclusive. To set it up, users navigate to Settings, then Accessibility, and pair a compatible hearing aid. Dual Audio is available in all regions where the Omni Mini-LED Series is sold, following the latest software update.
Amazon confirmed the rollout on its website, stating that Interactive Art joins the collection of over 2,000 free gallery-quality images already available in the Ambient Experience. These upgrades are exclusive to the Omni Mini-LED Series, which already offers 4K visuals, Dolby Vision, and hands-free Alexa access.
