Aldi is set to release a range of 'cool air' gadgets as part of its latest SpecialBuy lineup, arriving in stores nationwide from Thursday, July 2. The launch comes as the UK endures another day of scorching weather, with temperatures climbing to 35C across parts of the nation.
Extreme Heat Warnings and Impact
Earlier in the week, the Met Office issued an uncommon extreme heat red warning for certain regions of England and Wales, as forecasts anticipated highs of 40C. The severe conditions have resulted in school closures, travel disruption, strain on the NHS, a decline in retail footfall, and multiple drownings.
An intense 'heat dome' coupled with elevated humidity has driven daytime temperatures beyond a record-breaking 36.7C. The stifling conditions have produced insufferable 'tropical nights' where temperatures stayed above 20C.
Aldi's Cooling Solutions
To help Britons manage the heat, Aldi is unveiling a selection of 'cool air' devices. Among the highlights are the Portable Air Cooler for £14.99 and the Jet Fan for £16.99. The air cooler features a cube design, available in three colours (grey, blue, and light blue), and operates via USB-C charging, allowing it to be used indoors or outdoors. It offers three speed settings, a built-in LED motion, automatic colour-changing mode, and a touch control panel. A detachable water tank and upper compartment allow users to add water for cooler air.
Aldi says: "Your very own cooling device, perfect for bedrooms, offices, or even outdoor activities."
The £16.99 Jet Fan arrives with a zip-up storage box and functions as a 2-in-1 device: a dust blower and a vacuum pump. It comes with various attachments for different tasks, adjustable intensity, and is available in black, blue, green, and grey. A built-in rechargeable battery, light, belt clip, and USB charging cable are included.
Aldi adds: "Suitable for cleaning via compressed air, for inflating or vacuuming."
