Aldi Scotland is inviting local sports clubs to apply for its annual Sports Fund initiative, with £50,000 available nationwide. The fund, now in its eleventh year, aims to support grassroots sport and build a healthier Scotland.
How the Fund Works
Clubs can apply for funding packages including a top prize of £3,000, with additional awards of £1,250 and £750. The top three shortlisted clubs in each region will be selected by an Aldi Scotland judging panel, followed by a public vote on social media. The winning club receives £3,000, and the two runners-up each get £1,250.
Past Success Stories
Last year, Uddingston Shinty Club received £1,000 through the fund. Other beneficiaries include Glasgow City Foundation and Mearns Gymnastics Club. Since its launch in 2016, the Scottish Sport Fund has supported over 650 clubs and distributed more than £500,000.
Sandy Mitchell, regional managing director at Aldi Scotland, said: “Over the past decade, we have seen the real impact this funding has on clubs and communities across Scotland. Through the Scottish Sports Fund, Aldi has helped clubs invest in the equipment, resources and spaces they need to grow and succeed.”
