Which Wich, a popular US sandwich chain known for its customisable sandwiches, is set to open a new venue in Swansea city centre. The company has submitted a planning application to Swansea Council to transform a retail shop at unit two, 5 Whitewalls, into a snack bar and cafe.
Unique Ordering System
Founded in 2003 in Dallas, Texas, Which Wich introduced a distinctive ordering system where customers mark their sandwich choices on branded paper bags before placing their orders. This method has helped the chain grow into an international franchise with locations in several countries, including the UK.
In May, it was reported that the brand was opening a second Cardiff venue at the city's Bus Interchange, indicating its expansion across Wales.
Menu and Customisation
If the plans are approved, the Swansea location will offer pre-made menu favourites such as the California Chicken Club, Loaded BBQ Pork, and Super Veggie wrap. Alternatively, customers can choose from over 40 toppings to create their own personalised sandwich.
The chain's tagline claims 'superior sandwiches', and the new venue aims to bring this experience to Swansea residents and visitors.
Planning Decision Pending
The application, submitted by Steve Lewis, is now under consideration by Swansea Council's planning department. The outcome will determine whether the city centre will soon have a new dining option.
