Webster & Carr, a highly rated barber and styling lounge favoured by Newcastle United defenders and Love Island stars, has expanded to open a new premises inside the Metrocentre in Gateshead. The new lounge is located in the Crescent area of the shopping mall, which is being transformed into a hub for North East businesses.
New location and launch
The barbers opened on Tuesday, July 22, 2026, joining Cafe Filto, which opened earlier in the month. Co-owner Darren Carr said: 'We searched for more than 18 months before we found The Crescent at Metrocentre. The moment we walked in, we knew our brand had found its next home. Not simply because of the location but because the people believed in our vision as much as we do. Their enthusiasm was genuine. Their support was obvious. We could feel it.'
Services and clientele
Webster & Carr offers expert grooming and styling, as well as exclusive fragrances including Gravel and Eight & Bob, which are not available elsewhere in the region. Among the stars styled by the barbers are former Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett and Love Island star Adam Collard.
