A UK skincare brand that has been operating for nearly three decades has entered administration. Aromantic appointed Christopher David Horner and Kevin Daniel Pinkerton, both of Business Rescue Expert, as administrators on September 23, 2026.
According to its website, the family-run business provides "organic beauty and natural skincare products." Its mission is to "offer everything you need to create your own creams, lotions, balms, toiletries, spa products, and specialised skincare items—along with the knowledge and inspiration to get started."
Website still operational
The website remains active, with customers able to purchase a range of products, including essential oils, butters, and recipe kits. The reason behind the company going into administration remains unknown. However, Companies House notes that the business's accounts are overdue.
Retail sector pressures
Its collapse comes at a time of financial challenges across the wider retail sector. Many businesses are facing mounting pressures from increasing costs, resulting in multiple waves of store closures.
Customer reviews and company history
The business has received many positive reviews from customers praising both the quality and delivery service. One person wrote: "I’ve been a customer for years and make all my products using their superlative ingredients. Good service well packed and quick."
Another said: "I love Aromantic. They and their products are by far the best. I am retired now and only made products for myself but I love making face and eye creams knowing that only the best ingredients go into them." A third added: "The products are with high quality and help my daughter's eczema a lot."
Aromantic was founded by Norwegian skincare expert Kolbjorn Borseth in 1997. After his father retired in 2016, his eldest son, Benjamin, took over the company.
