Caribbean-inspired restaurant chain Turtle Bay has confirmed the closure of its Swansea branch after nearly a decade in the city. The venue on Castle Street will serve its last meals on Thursday, April 16.
The restaurant, which first opened in 2017, recently won the Best of Swansea accolade at the Wales Restaurant Awards. Turtle Bay operates around 45 sites across the UK, including a branch on Cardiff's St Mary Street.
In a statement, Turtle Bay Swansea said: 'After almost ten incredible years, next week we will close our doors for the last time. We are devastated, but wanted to thank you all for your support over the years.' The chain encouraged customers to visit its Cardiff location instead.
Regulars expressed shock and sadness at the news, with one describing it as 'gutted' and another saying they were 'devastated'. The closure marks the end of an era for the popular eatery known for its bottomless brunches and Caribbean cuisine.
