The Trafford Centre is welcoming two new stores this weekend: a massive Footasylum sportswear megastore and a Frurt frozen yogurt shop, offering shoppers a cool break during the heatwave.
Footasylum Megastore Opens Saturday
Footasylum's new 17,178 square foot store opens on Saturday, June 27, on Peel Avenue. It has created 14 new jobs and is part of the company's UK expansion, following recent openings in Manchester Arndale and Leeds Trinity. The store features brands like Nike, adidas Originals, ASICS, Saucony, Berghaus, and Footasylum-exclusive labels Monterrain and Forena.
To celebrate, the first 200 customers on Saturday will receive exclusive goody bags with Crep Protect and New Era Caps, and a chance to win prizes including a PS5, festival tickets, a year's supply of trainers, and a full year's gym membership. The opening weekend will also include surprise influencer appearances and a live DJ set.
Shannon Osman, Retail Director at Footasylum, said: "The launch of our newly upgraded Trafford Centre store is another landmark moment for Footasylum in our UK expansion plan, as we continue to invest in high-impact, high-performing locations."
Frurt Frozen Yogurt Opens in The Orient
Frurt, a Manchester-born frozen yogurt brand, has opened its first shopping centre location in The Orient food court, occupying the former bandstand on the upper floor. The self-serve concept allows customers to choose their flavor and add toppings like Biscoff, Nutella, and sugary treats. Flavors change regularly. Frurt opened on Thursday evening with a giveaway and expects queues throughout the weekend, especially given the hot weather.
