A savvy shopper has demonstrated how far £20 can stretch in a charity shop, bagging items worth significantly more. YouTuber Kavita Donkersley, who runs the channel SheWearsFashion, shared her recent haul in a video, offering tips for bargain hunters amid the cost-of-living crisis.
Her standout find was a virtually new Revival trench coat, which she purchased for £10. After a quick online search, she discovered it retails for over £70. 'It was an absolute bargain,' she said. Other purchases included a hardback copy of Sally Rooney's 'Normal People' for 50p, a pair of Adidas Samba-style shoes for £4, and a star-shaped brooch for 50p.
Kavita also picked up a silver handbag for £2 and a mysterious doughnut-shaped glass ornament for £3, which she speculated could be part of a lampshade. 'It might make a great DIY project,' she suggested. The total came to exactly £20.
In previous videos, Kavita has showcased other bargains, such as a pair of chunky-heeled red shoes from Mango, originally £50, which she found for just £6. Her tips come as charity shop prices rise due to increased demand from thrifters seeking sustainable and affordable options.
