The Denton pub on West Road in Newcastle has reopened after an extensive makeover, with regulars declaring it has 'never looked better'. The venue welcomed customers back at the end of last week following significant changes both inside and out.
Transformation unveiled
The refurbishment, announced towards the end of last month, saw the doors shut for a few weeks before reopening in style. The transformation includes updated signage, a redesigned bar with a cocktail station, new furnishings, and an upgraded beer garden featuring new lighting to create a modern outdoor space.
The kitchen area has also been upgraded with a brand-new layout and equipment. The pub now offers a semi-private dining area suitable for up to 25 guests, ideal for celebrations from baby showers to wedding anniversaries.
New menu and community focus
Alongside the new look, guests can enjoy a refreshed menu featuring dishes such as Grilled Salmon Fillet, Pork Tomahawk, and Katsu Chicken Rice Bowl, alongside classics like Haddock & Chips, Gammon Steak, and Sausages & Mash. Sunday roasts remain a highlight, with hand-carved meats, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, and gravy, plus vegetarian options.
The Denton's General Manager, Daniel Harrison, said: "This refurbishment is about so much more than giving the pub a new look. We've created a space that feels brighter, more comfortable and even more welcoming, while keeping the character that our guests love. We know this pub means a lot to the community, and we're excited to welcome everyone back through the doors."
Harrison also noted the pub's community role: "We pride ourselves on being at the heart of the local community which is why we're currently sponsoring two men's football teams, the Westerhope and Westergate. We're also on the lookout for a local women's team to sponsor as well."
