Tesco is providing free breakfasts to thousands of military personnel and veterans across 335 stores on Armed Forces Day, Sunday, June 28. The offer applies to all serving Armed Forces personnel—approximately 159,000 regulars and 32,000 reservists—who can present their MOD90 identification card at Tesco's The Café to receive a complimentary breakfast. Options include The Breakfast, The Veggie Breakfast, The Vegan Breakfast, Sausage Bap, Egg Bap, Veggie Bap, or Bacon Bap.
Veterans Included for Second Year
For the second consecutive year, veterans across the UK can also claim the free breakfast by presenting a valid Veteran’s ID card. This initiative underscores Tesco's ongoing support for the armed forces community.
Sabrina Lungo, chair of the Armed Forces Network at Tesco, stated, "This token of appreciation is just one way that we’re helping and recognising serving personnel and veterans." She added, "In 2025, we reconfirmed our commitment to the Armed Forces Community through re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant and launching our three-year partnership with Help for Heroes, to support not only our veterans at Tesco but the wider community."
Over 7,800 Free Breakfasts Given Since 2022
Since 2022, Tesco has given away more than 7,800 free breakfasts to recognise those who serve and have served. Ashwin Prasad, Tesco UK CEO and executive sponsor of the Armed Forces Network, said, "Everyone loves a free breakfast and it’s a nice way of thanking them for their service." He noted Tesco's long association with the armed forces and its pride in being the leading private sector employer of veterans in the UK.
How to Claim the Free Breakfast
To claim the breakfast at a manned cafe checkout, simply show your valid ID. If ordering at self-service, show your military ID to the member of staff on the drinks counter, who will provide a coupon. Scan the barcode at any point during the transaction to redeem your free breakfast.
