Tesco, the UK's largest supermarket chain, has announced its opening hours for the August bank holiday weekend. The bank holiday falls on Monday, August 25, and shoppers should be aware of changes to store timings.
Most large Tesco stores in England and Wales will operate from 8am to 6pm on bank holiday Monday. On Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, these stores will follow their usual hours: typically 6am or 7am to midnight on weekdays and Saturdays, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. Tesco Express stores will also open from 8am to 6pm on Monday, though their regular hours are 6am to 11pm or midnight.
Stores in Scotland and Northern Ireland will see no change to their opening hours due to different trading laws. However, Tesco advises customers to use its online store finder tool to check specific times for their nearest branch, as variations may occur.
In other news, Tesco is running a competition for Clubcard members to win a Vauxhall Frontera Electric car, valued at £25,995. The promotion celebrates 30 years of Clubcard. To enter, shoppers must scan a QR code on receipts or in-store screens, or visit tesco.com/vauxhallcompetition, answer a few questions, and be a Clubcard member. The competition closes on August 31.
Tesco Clubcard members earn one point for every £1 spent on groceries, one point for every two litres of fuel, and points on Tesco Mobile, credit card spending, and Clubcard Pay+ debit card usage. A minimum of 150 points is needed for a £1.50 voucher, which can be doubled in value when used with Reward Partners like RAC, Pizza Express, Disney+, and easyJet.
