Takis has rolled out a four-city Freshers' campaign designed to drive discovery across the full flavour range and reinforce the brand's “All intense, not all spicy” message. Running until 9 October, the campaign combines two complementary activation formats created to reach students wherever they are, either on campus or in the heart of high-footfall city locations.
Campus takeovers and Takis Arcade
The campus takeovers, which started on 28 September, are designed to deliver sustained engagement, encourage repeat interaction and create a high-visibility brand presence at the start of term. Following yesterday's events, Takis will again take over major university campuses on 1, 5 and 8 October, with the Takis Arcade, a high-energy, dwell-time-driving experience featuring a Takis Arcade Machine with 100+ playable games, Takis Table Football, Takis Air Hockey and an Interactive Selfie Station with a built-in social follow mechanic.
City-centre sampling bursts
On 29 September, 2, 6 and 9 October, Takis will shift into high-reach mode with a series of guerilla sampling bursts across Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London. Brand ambassadors will distribute Takis in key student movement corridors – such as Manchester's Oxford Road – during peak footfall periods to maximise reach and drive trial. This city-centre activity is designed to complement the campus experience, ensuring Takis reaches students who engage directly with the Arcade as well as those moving through the wider city environment.
Recruiting new consumers
By pairing immersive campus engagement with high-volume city sampling, and working with carefully selected social media influencers, Takis aims to recruit new consumers and encourage discovery across the full flavour range. Takis expects the Freshers' 2026 programme to deliver significant trial, strong social amplification and a high-energy brand presence across all four cities as students begin the new academic year.
