Many people across the UK are set to enjoy a three-day weekend as Monday 25 May marks the Spring bank holiday, originally known as Whit Monday. Tesco Express stores will run regular hours, typically 6am–7am opening and 10pm–midnight closing. Sainsbury’s stores will open 8am to 8pm, with Local stores open 7am to 10pm or 11pm; Scottish stores keep regular hours from around 7am to 10pm.

Morrisons stores will open between 7am and 8am, with most closing at 8pm, though some may stay open until 10pm. Asda’s larger stores will operate 8am to 10pm, with Scottish stores on regular hours; Asda Express convenience stores are often open 24/7. Waitrose hours vary, but most will run a reduced schedule of 8am to 6pm on bank holiday Monday. The Co-op expects most stores to open normal hours (7am to 10pm), but some may open later or close earlier. Iceland stores will open as usual. Customers are advised to check local store hours online before travelling.
