The Student Takeover returned to Newcastle's Eldon Square on Monday, with brands offering freebies and discounts of up to 50% off. The city centre shopping centre hosted live entertainment as part of the free-to-attend event, giving young people access to deals from fashion and food brands.
Discounts and freebies on offer
Deals included 50% off at Smash Burger and Chit N Chaat, 40% off at Chaophraya, 25% off at Levi's, and 20% off at Schuh, Hollister and River Island. Free Wingstop chicken, Greggs vouchers, matcha, popcorn and candy floss were also available.
Games and prizes
Visitors could take part in several games, with prizes such as a £100 gift card for the shopping centre. Jet2 was the main sponsor of the event, which ran from 2.30pm to 7.30pm. The airline partnered with Newcastle International Airport to offer students exclusive merchandise as an add-on to the event's other offerings.
