A self-described 'shopaholic' from Manchester says she found clothes worth £1,000 in charity shops – and paid just £60 for the lot. Holly Wood discovered luxury handbags and clothing for a fraction of their retail value.
In a TikTok video that has been viewed more than 62,000 times, the 39-year-old said: “I’ve just found £1,000 worth of clothes in the charity shops for less than 60 quid. This is a good one – there’s some handbags, there’s some shoes, and some great pieces that I can wear this autumn/winter.”
Bargain Winter Jacket and Skirt
Mum-of-two Holly found a winter jacket for £16 – which she described as an “absolute bargain” after discovering it originally retailed at around £150. She also picked up a knitted grey skirt with an on-trend drop waist and pleated design for £6.50, though it was label-less so she couldn’t check the original price.
Her third bargain of the day was a jumpsuit by designer brand Jigsaw which she believes costs upwards of £150, and which she spent just £7 on. Holly also picked up some brand new River Island brown heeled shoes for £5 – originally £52.
Designer Handbags for Pennies
Continuing her haul, the thrifty shopper said the 'piece de resistance' were the accessories – handbags. The first is a cheetah print envelope evening bag from designer brand Reiss, which usually retails at around £150, and which she got for £7.50.
The second bag cost £10, a longer cream canvas tote which cost upwards of £450, which Holly was thrilled by – particularly as it appeared “pristine” and unused.
She added: “Guys, this is your sign to head out to charity shops. Go support your local shops, support some charities, keep things in circulation and out of landfill. Have fun, have a delve – there is always something to be found.”
