Sephora Confirms Scottish Store Opening Dates

Sephora, the global beauty retailer owned by LVMH, has confirmed the opening dates for its first Scottish stores, setting the stage for what it calls a 'Sephora Summer'. The Edinburgh store at St James Quarter will open on Thursday, July 9, followed by the Glasgow location at Silverburn on Thursday, August 13.

Exclusive Brands and Services

Both stores will stock Sephora UK exclusives and selective brands, including rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, INNBeauty Project, Tower 28, and Half Magic, marking their debut on Scottish soil. Customers can enjoy personalised redeemable beauty consultations, gift-wrapping, engraving services, and immersive in-store experiences designed to inspire confidence and creativity.

Beauty Scan Technology

The new stores will be among the first to introduce Sephora UK's Beauty Scan technology, which uses an advanced lens to analyse skin for individualised consultations and product recommendations, including oil and hydration levels and foundation shade matching.

Leadership Comments

Sarah Boyd, managing director of Sephora UK, said: 'This summer marks a major milestone in Sephora UK's journey as we continue to bring our unique beauty experience to more communities across the country. We're incredibly excited to be opening our first stores in Scotland, giving beauty lovers access to some of the world's most sought-after brands and exclusive products for the very first time. We can't wait to welcome customers through our doors and celebrate what promises to be a true Sephora Summer.'

Anne Ledgerwood, estate director at St James Quarter, added: 'Welcoming Sephora's first Scottish store to St James Quarter on 9 July is a landmark moment for the Quarter and for Edinburgh. Securing such an iconic global beauty brand for its Scottish debut reflects its position as the country's leading retail destination and builds on the strength of our already diverse beauty offer.'

Omnichannel Experience

Shoppers can also access the Sephora UK app for exclusive offers and the MySephora loyalty programme, earning points on purchases in-store and online for rewards, gifts, early access, and event invites. Diarmuid Donohoe, centre manager at Silverburn, commented: 'Sephora opening at Silverburn this August is a really exciting moment for beauty lovers in Glasgow and the west of Scotland. Bringing the very best global brands to our community is what drives us, and each new arrival reinforces Silverburn's position as the go-to destination for beauty, lifestyle and fashion in the city.'

Expansion Strategy

The Scottish openings are part of Sephora UK's expansion strategy, alongside new small-format boutique stores debuting at Soho's Carnaby Street on July 23 and Shoreditch's Old Spitalfields Market on July 30.
