Samsung has confirmed it will launch new foldable phones on Wednesday, July 22, with a new version of the Z Fold series heavily rumoured to be unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked. It's also very likely that a new flip-style foldable will be announced, making now an ideal time to purchase the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Massive £350 Discount on Z Flip 7
Released in July 2025, the Z Flip 7 remains Samsung's most advanced flip phone to date. Currently, EE is offering it SIM-free for £699, a substantial £350 saving on the £1,049 retail price. EE describes this as a “limited time offer” without specifying an end date. With Samsung expected to unveil what will likely be the Z Flip 8 soon, this price may not last long.

The Z Flip 7 addresses earlier model flaws with an expansive cover display that allows users to run full apps without opening the phone. It also packs the largest battery in the series at 4,300mAh, supporting 25W wired charging (charger not included) and 15W wireless charging. The inner screen measures 6.9 inches, making the flip format attractive for those wanting to halve their large-screen phone's size for pocket storage.
The device boasts IP48 dust and water resistance, 256GB storage, 12GB RAM, a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP selfie camera. However, the folding inner screen remains inherently fragile, with a plastic top layer that can be permanently dented by fingernails or other objects. Samsung has improved durability over the years, but users should remain cautious.

Express.co.uk's technology editor Dave Snelling reviewed the Z Flip 7 upon release, awarding it four-and-a-half stars. He praised its cover screen, battery, and overall fun factor. “If you've been thinking about joining the Flip revolution, then this is a good year to invest,” Snelling said. He noted that the dual-lens cameras remain decent, though there is no telephoto lens for quality zoom snaps, and the phone can be propped up for selfies or bent like an old-fashioned camcorder.
Snelling warned that the Z Flip 7 uses Samsung's Exynos 2500 chip instead of the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite, which may matter for mobile gaming enthusiasts. His other criticism was the £1,049 price, which is now addressed by EE's £699 sale.
Competitive Pricing and Alternatives
At £699, the Z Flip 7 is cheaper than the £799 iPhone 17, £799 Pixel 10, and £879 Samsung Galaxy S26. For an even lower-cost flip option, the Motorola Razr 60 is currently on sale for £499.99, offering the same 6.9-inch internal screen, IP48 rating, and 188g weight, though with a less powerful Mediatek Dimensity 7400X chip.
