Rich's Ice Cream Recalled Over Listeria Fears: What You Need to Know
Rich's Ice Cream recalled due to listeria risk

Several batches of Rich's ice cream products have been urgently recalled across the UK due to potential contamination with listeria bacteria. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an alert, urging consumers to check their freezers immediately.

Affected Products

The recall affects specific batches of Rich's Premium Ice Cream, including popular flavours such as vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. The products were distributed to supermarkets, restaurants, and catering services nationwide.

Health Risks

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness, particularly in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhoea.

What to Do

If you have purchased any of the affected products, the FSA advises:

  • Do not consume the product
  • Return it to the place of purchase for a full refund
  • Contact your GP if you experience any symptoms

Rich's has apologised for the inconvenience and stated they are working closely with authorities to resolve the issue.
