Primark has introduced a new pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a designer style by Ganni, but at a fraction of the cost. The Eyelet Ballerina Pointed Flats are priced at £16, while the Ganni Black Feminine Buckle Ballerinas retail for £325 online, offering shoppers a potential saving of £309.
The two styles share several similarities, including pointed toes, flat soles, patent-leather finishes, and large buckles on two straps. Both also feature silver-tone hardware and slingback straps. However, the designer version has a more textured faux leather look and metal eyelets on the top straps, which the Primark shoes lack.
Primark describes its shoes as 'pointed ballet flats featuring dual eyelet buckle detail,' available in sizes three to eight. The Ganni product description reads: 'The iconic Black Feminine Buckle Ballerinas are a key wardrobe staple. Crafted from a 51% recycled polyester-blend in a signature open-toe silhouette with metal eyelets, silver-tone buckles and sleek pointed toes.'
Customers can purchase the Primark shoes in stores now. This is not the first time the retailer has offered a budget-friendly alternative to a designer item; it recently released an Oversized Crinkle Shopper Bag for £15, similar to Arket's Lined Straw Bag priced at £119.
