Shoppers are rushing to Primark after the budget retailer launched a pair of striped cotton trousers that look almost identical to a designer style costing £85. The trousers, priced at just £14, have been spotted in the nightwear section but are being hailed as a versatile summer staple suitable for daytime wear.
The trousers feature a classic pinstripe design and are available in red and blue colourways. They bear a striking resemblance to a pair from the brand Hush, which describes its version as 'pyjamas you can wear out' and sells them for £85 online. Primark's version offers the same look at a fraction of the cost.
One shopper spotted the trousers at the Liverpool ONE Primark store and noted that the same design is also available as shorts. The budget-friendly find has caused a stir on social media, with many praising Primark for offering affordable alternatives to high-end fashion.
This is not the first time Primark has been praised for designer lookalikes. Recent dupes include dresses, handbags, and satin toe post mules that resemble a £330 style by the brand TOTEME. The mules feature a kitten heel and flip-flop-style strap, perfect for pairing with the striped trousers for an easy summer look.
