Primark has released a pair of ballet flat shoes that shoppers say are "so similar" to Chanel's £820 version, but they cost just £6 — a saving of £814. Fashion and beauty content creator Sara Saleh shared that she had heard about the shoes and went to check whether her local Primark had them in stock. After searching the store, she was thrilled to find them and even bought a pair for her sister, knowing she would love them.
Design Details and Material Differences
The beige and black shoes look almost identical to the Chanel originals, which are made from lambskin and patent calf skin. Primark's version uses faux leather and features a bow detail to the front, according to the retailer's website. Sara noted that the suede is "very much darker" than the originals, which she thought "would be quite light cream," but she liked them regardless and said they are well worth trying on for £6.
Primark's Description and Styling Tips
Primark's website describes the shoes as part of "the ballet core trend" and says they are crafted with a faux leather composition and a bow detail. The retailer suggests dressing them up for the office with slim-fit trousers and a satin shirt, or keeping it casual with denim mom jeans and a graphic tee. The site adds that with various colourways to pick from, "we wouldn’t blame you for grabbing one of each!" Chanel's website does not provide a description of their shoes beyond the materials, but it shows the iconic double C logo.
Shopper Reactions and Comfort Feedback
In the comments on Sara's post, one person said the shoes are "so so cute" and that they "love" the Primark version. Another complained: "They're cute, but they hurt my feet." However, someone disagreed, writing: "I have these, and they haven’t hurt me at all, so defo recommend." When deciding between the two, shoppers are advised to set a budget and consider whether the pricier version's better quality materials are worth it, or if the budget version can work with their outfits.
