Regional representation and next poll

The 11 shortlisted venues came from across the North East, including Sunderland, Blyth, Chester-le-Street and rural Northumberland. After a Northumberland venue finished second in 2025, the county now holds bragging rights for the next 12 months.

A new poll has been launched on ChronicleLive ahead of National Curry Week, asking readers to nominate the best place for a curry in the North East. Nominations remain open until close of play on Thursday, October 8, with the shortlist due to be revealed the following weekend.
