Popeyes Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich Returns to UK: 'Phenomenal' Burger Reviewed

Popeyes has brought back its limited-edition Hot Honey range, including the fan-favourite Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, after overwhelming demand. The Louisiana fried chicken chain first introduced the sweet and spicy sauce last year, but it was only available for three months before being pulled. Now it's back, with a new menu item joining the line-up.

The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (£6.99) features Popeyes' signature shatter-crunch chicken breast in a brioche bun, topped with smoked cheese, pickles, and a generous drizzle of hot honey sauce. The reviewer described it as 'the best chicken burger I've ever eaten', praising the generous chicken breast and crunchy texture, though noting the sauce was 'very, very sweet' with a noticeable kick.

Alongside the sandwich, the range includes the new Hot Honey Saucin' Boneless, the returning Hot Honey Saucin' Wings, and a Hot Honey Box Meal. The reviewer warned that the sauce is messy and sticky, requiring napkins or wet wipes, but appreciated the lack of excessive salad and the overall flavour combination.

Dave Hoskins, head of food at Popeyes UK, said: 'Hot Honey is by far one of our best-selling flavours, as well as a viral trend that shows no signs of letting up. Our sweet, fiery sandwich pairs sticky honey with our signature Shatter Crunch texture for a mouth-watering experience that fans have been begging us to bring back.'

The Hot Honey range is available now in UK stores, but only for a limited time. Fans of the chain are encouraged to try it before it disappears again, as no end date has been confirmed.
