Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days has brought a 20 per cent discount on the Ninja Luxe Cafe Mini Plus espresso machine, reducing the price from £499.99 to £399. The deal was highlighted by Daisy Lester, Shopping Editor at The Standard, who described the bean-to-cup machine as foolproof and capable of producing barista-quality brews in a few simple moves.
A compact machine for small kitchens
The Ninja Luxe Cafe Mini Plus is a shrunken version of the larger Cafe Luxe, featuring a sleek stainless steel and black plastic design. According to Lester, it fits snugly in the corner of her kitchen and takes up little counter space, making it ideal for small London homes.
The machine includes a portafilter, single and double baskets, a funnel, an assisted tamper, and a milk jug. An LED screen shows the milk and filter coffee settings, and whether it is switched to a single or double espresso shot, while buttons are clearly labelled and self-explanatory.
How it works
To make an espresso, users choose either the single or double basket, which the machine recognises and adjusts settings accordingly, then fit the portafilter in the grinder. The machine detects the optimum grind size, and after stamping the grounds, pressing 'start brew' delivers a cup of coffee. An Americano or long black can be made by adding hot water.
Making filter coffee is equally straightforward: users dial the main disk to classic, rich, or over ice. Lester noted that after some learning, the process becomes second nature and even enjoyable.
