Sachins, a much-loved restaurant in Newcastle, has been recognised among the best in the world after receiving a 2026 Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award. The accolade places the Forth Banks eatery in the top 10% of listings on Tripadvisor worldwide, based on reviews and ratings left by users of the platform.
A local favourite for decades
Located not far from the Utilita Arena, Sachins has become a staple for music fans heading to see their favourite artists in the Toon, as well as a firm favourite for work nights out, birthdays and anniversaries. Regular customers say it is second to none for good food and great service.
The restaurant has built a loyal following since opening in 1943, attracting regulars, visitors, famous faces and generations of families. It has seen Newcastle change around it while maintaining its reputation.
Owner thanks team and customers
Owner Bob Arora expressed delight at the recognition, saying: "Restaurants are all about people. You can cook great food, but it’s the atmosphere, the welcome and the memories people make around the table that keep them coming back."
He added: "So this award really belongs to our team and our customers. Thank you to everyone who has eaten with us, reviewed us, recommended us or simply kept coming back. After 43 years, we’re still here - and thankfully people still seem to like us!"
